Why Mesotherapy?

  • HELPS TO SHAPE YOUR BODY WITHOUT EXPENSIVE SURGERY
  • NO LONG or PAINFUL RECOVERY
  • INJECTIONS TAKE 10-15 MINUTES AND ARE VIRTUALLY PAINLESS
  • Typically COSTS 60% LESS THAN LIPOSUCTION

What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy was initially developed for many medical uses including: treatment for anxiety, insomnia, bone spurs, muscle spasms, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, and osteoarthritis.

Mesotherapy, now commonly called Injection Lipolysis, is used as a minimally invasive procedure in which medication is “micro-injected” into targeted areas to shape your body, to treat excess fat, and help reduce cellulite that you can’t get rid of with diet and exercise alone.

How does the Mesotherapy work?

Mesotherapy introduces fat “melting” medications directly into your areas of concern. When added to a weight loss regimen, injections oxidize fat, shrink cells, weaken connective tissue and increase cell production. Fat released into the body is metabolized and excreted. Mesotherapy sessions are used alongside exercise and diet regimens rather than as an alternative to them.

What areas can Mesotherapy target?

  • DOUBLE CHIN
  • UPPER ARMS
  • “BRA BULGE” ABDOMEN “
  • LOVE HANDLES” THIGHS
  • “SADDLEBAGS”

Who is the best candidate for Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is best for people who have localized areas of fat that just won’t seem to budge with a healthy diet and exercise. Most of the time the area is either too small for liposuction, or the patient would rather reduce the area slowly and gradually without the expense and downtime of liposuction. Each treatment takes between 5 minutes (chin) to 30 minutes (large body areas).

What are the results?

Mesotherapy is a permanent solution that eliminates dimpling and extra fat under the skin. It causes the fat cells to die instead of just shrinking them down. After Mesotherapy, a patient’s skin appears significantly smoother. Most patients lose inches where they were treated. The inches lost depends on the number of treatments, but can be dramatic.

How many treatments are required?

Mesotherapy requires a series of treatments. The number of sessions is determined by the results you desire. Typically, people undergo 3-5 sessions to achieve their desired results.

Is Mesotherapy safe?

Mesotherapy has no serious side effects. At Phoenix Natural Doctor, we use a formula composed of substances that are normally found in the body such as deoxycholate (a bile salt), and/or phosphatidylcholine (lecithin). These are FDA recognized or approved substances, although they are not approved for mesotherapy specifically.

Are there any possible side effects?

You will experience warmth and itching for an hour or so after the injections. You may experience tenderness, swelling or redness for a few days after your treatment. In most cases, a nodule will develop and recede on its own over the next couple of weeks to months, this is actually a positive sign that the medications are doing what they are supposed to do, breaking down your fat cells! Rarely do allergic reactions to medications occur.

Will there be any downtime?

Not normally, most people return to their daily routine immediately. Redness and swelling may last for a few days after the treatment.

What are the benefits of Mesotherapy over other treatments?

Mesotherapy is a targeted, non-invasive way to achieve rapid results. It has a high success rate. Mesotherapy can be used to treat very specific or deep areas. Should you regain weight lost through Mesotherapy, it will not appear in odd and unpredictable places, as it often does after liposuction.

How long does a Mesotherapy treatment take?

A session typically lasts from five to thirty minutes depending on the size of the area being treated.

Who should avoid Mesotherapy?

You should avoid Mesotherapy if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or have serious medical conditions: diabetics (due to concerns about healing at the injection sites), people who have chronic illnesses like liver or kidney disease, cancer, people with autoimmune conditions such as Lupus or Scleroderma, and people who are obese as characterized by a body mass index (BMI) over 30.

How does the treatment feel?

Needles are small, about the size of an eyelash. The smallest possible micro-injections are used, causing minimal discomfort. Multi-pricking therapy used for cellulite is even less noticeable and can hardly be felt at all. A topical numbing cream will be applied to the area before injecting to minimize discomfort.

How long do the results last?

The results are long-lasting. If you maintain your weight, they could be almost permanent! If you do happen to gain some weight back, maintenance sessions can be performed once or twice a year, and will prolong results.

What are the alternative treatments?

Laser skin resurfacing can be used for minor sculpting, whereas invasive liposuction must be used for larger areas. If you wish to reduce fine lines or wrinkles, there are other injectables such as Botox® and fillers such as Restylane®.

What are the limitations of Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is designed for smaller areas. To achieve the best results, only one or two areas should be treated at a time to allow your body to properly metabolize the mobilized fat. Dramatic results can require many treatments.

Instructions for before treatment:

To reduce bruising, avoid blood thinners like Aspirin, Vitamin E, and Ginkgo for two weeks before treatment. Apply Arnica cream or gel to the area to be treated before coming to the office to help prevent bruising. Drink lots of water to ready your body to flush the mobilized fat.

Instructions for after treatment:

It is important that you exercise regularly, drink lots of fluids, and eat a healthy diet high in protein to help you lose weight or, at the minimum, maintain a steady weight. Otherwise, fat released into your system may reappear. You may want to apply Arnica to the treated area twice daily for 2-3 days afterward to help avoid bruising.
